Omar Khan

Director of Football Administration, Pittsburgh Steelers

Omar Khan is in his 16th season in the NFL and 12th season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Khan is in his third year as Director of Football and Business Administration after serving the previous four years as the Football & Business Administration Coordinator. Khan also spent five years as the team’s Business Operations Coordinator/Chief Negotiator.

In his current role, Khan is in charge of overseeing many different areas and functions of the organization as well still serving as the team’s chief negotiator. Khan works with the day-to-day overall management of the Football Operations Department, including the monitoring and strategic planning of the team’s salary cap.

Prior to joining the Steelers, Khan worked with the New Orleans Saints for four years. In 2000, he served as Football Operations/Coaching Assistant where he supervised the overall management and operation of the football program and assisted the offensive coordinator in the day-to-day operations of the offense.

From 1998-99, Khan served as New Orleans’ Player Personnel Assistant. His duties included negotiating player contracts, monitoring and strategic planning of the salary cap, football administration and government affairs, as well as serving as interim Player Programs Director during the 1998 season. In 1997, Khan was a Scouting/Player Personnel Intern, primarily working with pro scouting and contract research.

Khan joined the Saints after spending the 1996 season as an undergraduate assistant with the Tulane University football program. Khan, a graduate of Tulane, was born in New Orleans, La. He now resides in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
